For Adoption: PRETTY

Meet Pretty!
Isn't she gorgeous?! She is fur adoption with Heigl's Hounds of Hope here in Los Angeles.
Not too long ago her future wasn't as bright as it is today. She was hit by a car and dumped on the doorstep of a local vet. She had a fractured leg so the vet fixed her up and took her to the shelter in case someone was looking fur her. After a week no one had come fur Pretty and the shelter was getting full so she was redlisted and given only 5 days to live. Lucky fur her my MamaBear happened to be at the shelter that day. One of the Animal Care Technicians showed Pretty to MamaBear and told her the poor girl's sad story. MamaBear knew just who to call...
Founded by Katherine and Nancy Heigl in honor of Jason Heigl, Heigl's Hounds takes in larger, harder to place dogs, facing euthanization in Los Angeles shelters. Upon rescuing Pretty, HH realized that not only is she housetrained but she is good with kids and other dogs. Actually this stunning Dane/Retriever mix LOVES other dogs, big or small, and even though she is an adult (maybe 2-3 years old) she still plays like a puppy.
If you live in the Los Angeles area and looking fur an active and good looking companion, then Pretty is your girl. She is microchipped, current on vaccines, spayed and comes with a free training session upon adoption. (WOW! What a catch!) Heigl's Hounds requires an application and homecheck prior to adoption so if you're interested paw here or if you would like more infurmation about Pretty and how you can sniff her butt at a mobile adoption fair, check out her bio on the Heigl's Hounds website here.
Fur your viewing pleasure here is Pretty's video!

Mouse Vs. Mr. Flappy

One of our favorite toys is a purple Kong Wuba. We call it Mr. Flappy because when we shake it dead it makes a "flap, flap, flap" noise. I like to shake it and buck around like a bronco. Mouse likes to chase after it and bite it. Here's a video of Mouse playing tug and chase with Mr. Flappy.

Fuzzy Face Cookies

A couple weeks ago we got some Pup-Kin Pie treats from Fuzzy Face Cookies.
The num nums are pumpkin and cinnamon flavored and smell just like pumpkin pie. Even MamaBear was drooling over these cookies. They crumble easily which is grrreat for the Seniors and little Mouse who have a hard time chewing harder treats and they are made from high quality ingredients such as, organic oat flour, organic brown rice flour, organic oats, olive oil, spring water, organic blackstrap molasses, pumpkin, cinnamon, rosemary and ginger.
According to the Fuzzy Face website and packaging, the "cookies are prepared in small batches at low temperatures to maximize flavor and nutrient availability." The cookies are also grrrreat for dogs with allergies like my brother Buddy, because the cookies are "free of common allergens such as wheat, dairy, corn, soy, and eggs." Another wonderful fact about Fuzzy Face Cookies, a portion of each sale is donated to animal charities. Besides the Pup-Kin Pie flavor, they also have Choco-Nana and we are waggin' our tails feverishly fur a lick of those. Right now the cookies are being sold at LA local pet pawtiques and farmer's markets and online. Below are some pictures of me REALLY enjoying the Pup-Kin Pie cookies.

Noisy Dog Studio

My MamaBear and I are furiends with Leigh Jackson, artist extraordinaire, on Twitter. Leigh goes by the Twitter name @noisydogstudio and she is DogMom to 6 rescued dogs and 4 rescued cats. When she's not chasing after Bostons' Mick and Franklin, she's painting dog pawtraits. Leigh has her own style which she describes as "nose-first close up pawtraits" and brings color and imagination to all her work. Leigh offers many services to her clients including custom commissioned pawtraits, original dog paintings and prints which are all ordered and sold through her website http://www.noisydogstudio.com/
A couple of weeks ago she asked MamaBear if she could paint a pawtrait of my little sister Mouse. She loves to "practice" with her Twitter furiends. I have to say I was a little jealous when I heard that she chose to paint Mouse and not me....I mean I AM devilishly handsome and the pawfect dog. Even though Mouse is rotten and stinky everyone likes to drool over her, and ok I'll admit it, she is kind of cute... so I only whined a little. Leigh had seen many pictures of Mouse posted on Twitter by MamaBear and she used those photos fur her painting.
When we saw the finished pawduct we couldn't stop barking Leigh's praises. She captured Mouse's spirit; her silliness, sweetness and most of all her rotteness, all of which she carries in her face, pawticularly in her eyes and mouth. Leigh also chose pink to be the background color and let me bark at you, pink is Mouse's favorite color.
Leigh's painting of Mouse is an 8"x8" acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas but she offers many other sizes and can accomodate multiple dogs (depending on the canvas size). Mouse was so thrilled with her pawtrait her tail hasn't stopped wagging and she's been barking to all her furiends about it.
If you would like to fetch a pawtrait of your own sweet pup paw Noisy Dog Studio's website here. You can also purchase original dog paintings and/or prints, including the one of Mouse, from Leigh's gallery by sniffing here.

I am pawsitively happy to share with all my anipals Leigh's painting of my little sister Mouse! Enjoy!
If you would like Leigh to "practice" with your pup, follow her on Twitter at @noisydogstudio and then DM (direct message) her with your request and a photo! Woof

Have A Heart, Adopt! Strut Your Mutt Walk

I'm stretching my paws and num num loading in preparation for the Have A Heart, Adopt! Strut Your Mutt Walk next Saturday, February 13th. Mouse, MamaBear and I will be joining the Best Friends LA "Puppies Aren't Products" Team. We'll be strutting, pouncing, bouncing and barking our way down the street as examples to the public that there are many wonderful animals waiting to be adopted in local rescues and shelters. The walk starts at Ventura and Woodman and continues down Ventura ending at one of my favorite pawtiques, Maxwell Dog. The store will be hosting adoptions that day from 1-4 PM and there may even be some celebrities in attendance! Rumor has it Rachelle Lefevre will be there as she is the Puppies Aren't Products official spokesperson and DogMom to 2 rescues, Momma Bear and Jack Sprat. To all my Los Angeles anipals I hope you can come out and join in on the fun.
